Club Soccer:
Emerson Andrews joined Solar Soccer Club 2021. She plays on the U17 ECNL team for Coach Sal Adames. Solar is ranked #1 in the nation as a club and the U17 team is currently the #2 ranked team in the country per TopDrawer. Prior to joining Solar Emerson played for Sting Black ECNL for one year, and DKSC for 6 years, playing on the ECNL team when age-eligible starting at U13. Prior to that, she played up with the 05s. Emerson has always played defense and is equally comfortable playing any of the defensive positions, both right and left outside back, and center back. Last year Coach Sal played Emerson in the midfield some too. Emerson played on the ODP NTX regional team in Florida in 2020 and has competed at many high-level tournaments, including Super Copa, Surf Cup, State Cup, Vegas Cup, and Dallas Girls International Cup & Dallas Cup. Emerson & her Solar team won the prestigious Dallas Cup in April, 2022. Her team finished 1st place in the Texas ECNL conference for 2021-2022, and advanced to the Semifinals in the ECNL National Championships. The Solar defense recorded 13 shutouts in the 2021/22 season. So far in the 2022/23 season, they have 4 shutouts in ECNL play.
School Soccer:
Emerson Andrews was the sole freshman to make the varsity soccer team at Highland Park High School (HPHS) in 2021, and she was a starter on varsity as a sophomore and again this year as a junior. Emerson received the 1st Team All-District Award, and the Defensive MVP Award for the 2022 season. The defense recorded 17 shutouts in the 2022 season. HPHS made it to the Regional Finals for both the 2021 & 2022 seasons.
Education:
Emerson Andrews attends HPHS and is in the class of 2024. Emerson takes several honors/AP classes. She would like to study sports management or business. Emerson is excited to participate in the recruiting process so she can play soccer at the collegiate level. While her family has undergrad and master's degrees from UT, SMU, TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech and LSU, Emerson is very independent and interested in looking at all options, including out-of-state.
Family:
Emerson is the daughter of Brian and Laura Andrews. Her father played football in college and was a quarterback. Her mom played tennis growing up and switched to running marathons before having children. She was a Top 100 finisher in the White Rock Marathon in 2002. Brian is a Supervisor at UBS for the High Net Worth Mortgage Team. Laura has been in the biotech industry for the past 22 years and currently works at Kite Pharma in their cell therapy division. Emerson has two younger brothers that are 11 & 13. Stone is in 5th grade and loves all things sports. Currently, he plays club tackle football and basketball. Major is in 7th grade and plays on his middle school football team and plays club basketball. Emerson has a ragdoll cat, Packer, and two long-haired German Shepherds, Dak and Ozzy.
